What is Held Unlimited?

Held Unlimited is a subscription that gives you access to every story in the catalog while your plan is active. Choose Monthly ($4.99/month) or Annual ($29.99/year — save 50%).

What are Book Passes?

Book Passes let you unlock individual books permanently. Once you use a Book Pass on a book, it stays in your library forever — even without a subscription. Passes are available in packs of 1 ($2.99), 3 ($5.99), or 10 ($14.99).

Is there a free trial?

Yes. New users get a 7-day free trial of Held Unlimited. You can cancel anytime during the trial and you won’t be charged. After the trial, your plan continues at $4.99/month unless you cancel.

Can I use Book Passes and a subscription together?

Absolutely. Credits and subscription are independent. If you have an active subscription, you can still buy Book Passes to permanently keep specific books in your library after your subscription ends.

What happens if I cancel my subscription?

You keep access until the end of your current billing period. After that, you can still listen to any books you unlocked with Book Passes. Free episodes remain available to everyone.

Do Book Passes expire?

No. Book Passes never expire and unlocked books stay in your library permanently.

How do I get a refund?

Subscription refunds are handled by your payment provider (Apple, Google, or Stripe). For Book Pass refunds, any refunded credits are deducted from your balance, but books you’ve already unlocked stay in your library. Contact support@held.fm if you need help.

How do I change my plan?

You can manage your subscription from Settings in the app, or through your app store’s subscription management page.

Why was I charged after my trial?

The free trial automatically converts to a paid subscription after 7 days. To avoid charges, cancel before the trial ends. You can cancel anytime from Settings or your app store.

Privacy & Data

What data does Held collect?

We collect your email, listening progress, playback preferences, and any reviews or bookmarks you create. On web, we may also use Google Analytics for aggregate usage metrics. No ads and no data sales.

Does Held sell my data?

No. Never. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to anyone.

How can I export my data?

You can request an export of your data from Settings or by emailing support@held.fm. The export includes your profile, library, listening progress, reviews, and bookmarks.

How do I delete my account?

You can request account deletion from Settings or by emailing support@held.fm. Your account enters a 30-day grace period, and signing in again during that window restores it automatically. After that, the account is hard-deleted.

What happens to my data when I delete my account?

Your data is soft-deleted for 30 days, then the account is hard-deleted. Active subscriptions are cancelled. If you change your mind before the purge, sign in again to restore the account automatically. Limited purchase and activity records may still be retained for audit, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal compliance.

How are Held stories made?

Held Originals are produced with original story-generation and virtual-voice tools.

Are reviews moderated?

Yes. All reviews are checked for quality before they appear publicly. You can always see your own review regardless of moderation status.

Can I write a review?

Yes. Any signed-in user can rate a book (1–5 stars) and optionally write a text review.

Are free episodes really free?

Yes. The first 3 episodes of every book are completely free. No account needed, no strings attached.

Do I need an account to listen?

No. Free episodes are available without an account. You’ll need an account to start a free trial, make purchases, save books to your library, or write reviews.

What sign-in methods are available?

Email and password, Google Sign-In, and Apple Sign-In.

Can I use Held on multiple devices?

Yes. Your account syncs across iOS, Android, web, and Mac. Your library, progress, and preferences stay in sync everywhere.

I forgot my password.

Use the password reset link on the sign-in page. You’ll receive an email with instructions to set a new password.
