The central conflict is economic: two faction leaders, Cole (medicine) and Dez (water), must cooperate before nightfall or the neighborhood fractures into violence, but each has too much to risk and too little trust to move first. Ana spends the day brokering a chain of smaller deals, each of which closes an exit for one leader or the other, each of which earns her a new enemy, each of which holds together only because she calls what she sees regardless of consequence. At the climax, Cole opens his pharmaceutical crate for public verification for the first time — and Ana's overlay names a third of it expired and one vial counterfeit. She names the lie. Her class evolves the instant she speaks: Market Maker becomes Free Market, a forty-meter domain crystallizes in the hall, and every weapon in the room seizes. The coalition reassembles around true values — smaller than Cole planned, more honest than anyone expected, but intact. Ana ends the day with a domain she did not ask for, three enemies she earned, and a market that is genuinely open for the first time.
